DAY 23---SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO

We docked here in San Juan at 7am.  The US Immigration officials came on board at 7:15 and started face-to-face clearing all passengers and crew at 7:45.  Tour people were called first.  We did not have a tour so waited for Ray to call us by what deck we were on.  Sunny and 83 degrees at noon.

LAST EVENING

Pre-dinner show featured the production cast and Ray.

One of the two male singers.  Great voice.
                                                                   Ray telling a joke.

Ray with one of his puppets.
                                                                Very good tap dancer.
Ray doing a Phantom of the Opera numbers.

Dinner in Compass Rose with Nicki, our General Manager.
My shrimp cocktail to start with.
Rebecca had the roast turkey, stuffing, sweet potato, and green beans.
I had the prime rib with a baked potato.
                                                          Marcia toasting St Patrick's Day.

TODAY

You have to go through the terminal to get to the buses.
We went through US immigrations at 8:30.  They took a photo and looked at our passports.  Took less than a minute.
Getting rid of some trash today.
This is the MSC Seascape.  4540 passengers and was christened in December 2022.

Not sure what cruise line this ship is.  Capital building in the distance.
This is the Castillo San Cristobal.  Construction began in 1634 and completed in 1790.  27 acres in size.
I was walking on this deck for an hour and discovered oil on the deck.  So I reported it to the Executive Concierge.  10 minutes later the Safety Officer and Engineer Officer showed up.  Here a deck hand is cleaning it up.  They found where the leak was.
I had a nice chat with Martin, the Safety Officer.

We did not take a tour today as have been here several times.  Besides I wanted to get some exercise.  Here is a link to over 100 photos that I took in 2016.  You will have to "cut & paste" the link on your computer browser.

I enjoyed this chili-honey glazed grilled salmon in Compass Rose for lunch.
We are sailing again early today at 1:00pm and will be at sea tomorrow as it is 804 miles to our next stop at Great Stirrup Cay.  More about that place in another posting.  I walked another hour this afternoon.
We were a half hour late leaving the pier due to some last arriving tours.
                                                             Sailing out of the harbor.
At the entrance to the harbor is Castillo San Felipe del Morro.  A Spanish fort protecting the entrance to the harbor was started in 1539 and completed in 1787.  It occupies 70 acres.

Our steward prepared our balcony for high winds and rougher seas tonight and tomorrow.  He also brought us a new refrigerator as ours died.

At 6:00 this evening in the theater is the Farewell Reception and the crew talent show, "Krew Kapers".  It's amazing the talents some of our crew members have.  Always a fun time.
At 7:00 we, and Jane, have been invited to dine with Captain Loris in Compass Rose.  This will be the second dinner Rebecca and I have had with the Captain.
We will be having the beef Wellington.  I have $75 ship board credit to use so will be ordering a special wine to enjoy.
The show at 9:30 is featuring a return of Cory Kahaney, comedian, for her second show.
